The makers also claim that the sneakers are water resistant and have the ability to be recharged via a wireless charging station, with one charge delivering eight hours of power.

Based on those features, it's easy to see how a Pokémon Go version of the shoes might work to help a user play the game led by their feet. But again, the game version is just a concept at this point.





The idea, which is still a concept at this stage, was created by New York-based start-up Vixole, a company working on "smart sneakers" with embedded LED displays and sensors.

Kia offers free Apple CarPlay and Android Auto updates for 8 models

Did you fear you'd missed the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto boat when you purchased your new Kia? Worry no more; the Korean carmaker is offering free updates that will bring the popular smartphone integrations into the dashboards of eight of its models later this summer.

Kia Motors America, better known simply as "Kia,"announced Tuesday morning that the models, spanning the 2014 to 2017 model years, are now eligible for free updates. These updates will enable both CarPlay and Android Auto on the company's navigation and UVO3 infotainment systems.
The Kia vehicles eligible for the update include:

2017 Forte
2015-16 Optima
2015-15 Optima Hybrid
2015-15 Sedona
2014-16 Soul
2015-16 Soul EV
2016 Sorento
2017 Sportage

In order to install the update, owners of new and preowned Kia models will first need to register at myuvo.com.
At the end of July, Kia will send out emails to registered owners. This email will include vehicle eligibility info and system update download instructions.
Once their updates are installed, iPhone users will be able to use Siri to dictate emails and more. Just don't expect her to access Spotify or let you use anything other than Apple Maps to get around. That is, for now.

New Apple patent suggests future iPhones could have a Digital Crown

This year's iPhone is expected to bore everyone's brains out.
Now, next year's iPhone...that's supposed to be the one with the sweeping changes. For the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, Apple surely has something grand planned.

We've heard rumors of OLED displays, an all-new redesigned body (possibly back to glass), wireless charging, and the integration of the home button/Touch ID sensor directly underneath the screen itself.
It's all really just speculation at this point.
But here's an interesting possibility: a Digital Crown (like the one on the Apple Watch) on an iPhone. Yeah, it could happen.
The United States Patent and Trademark Office has published a patent Apple filed in 2014 for a digital crown for devices that look suspiciously similar to iPhones and iPads.
Button 204 in the published diagram below is the crown-like mechanism:

Notice how the device in the diagram doesn't have any home button of any sort.
Of course, patent illustrations are all pretty basic and aren't detailed at all. Patent filings also aren't confirmations the ideas will ever make it into real products.
Still, it's not hard to imagine what a Digital Crown would look like on an iPhone. In fact, that's exactly what one 3D designer actually did last year: At the time, I said a streamlined Digital Crown with an embedded Touch ID fingerprint sensor would actually be smart. "A digital crown would make it somewhat easier to replicate scrolling, and zooming in and out, without much finger muscle movement," I wrote. If Apple were to make this concept a reality, I would be one of the first in line to buy one.
